What your online shop includes
Selling on a marketplace means sharing every sale and every customer with the marketplace. A shop on your own website keeps the customer relationship, and more of the margin, with you.
Card payments go straight to your own payment account, and you add products and manage orders from the shop's dashboard. Before launch we test a full order on every shipping zone, from basket to payment to confirmation email. For a handful of products, deposits or vouchers, the simpler card payments add-on works on any website.

Online shop questions
Should my shop run on Shopify or on a shop I own?
It depends on your catalogue and how you want to run the shop. Shopify charges a monthly subscription, and in return you get its ready-made apps and its own support team, so you can add features yourself without a developer. An open-source shop has no platform subscription, only hosting, and you own every part of it. We set out the running costs of both for your shop before you choose.
How do I get paid?
Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay payments go straight to your own payment account, and the payment provider pays out to your bank. The provider sets its own processing fees.
Can I add products and manage orders myself?
Yes. You add products, change prices and stock, and handle orders from the shop's dashboard. We show you how it works before launch.
Can you move my shop from another platform?
Yes. We move your products and set up redirects from your old product addresses, so links and search results keep working. Customer accounts and order history move as far as your current platform allows them to be exported.
